Cosmetic Surgery Procedures

Cosmetic surgery is elective and not covered by medical insurance. Dr. Chang's consultation fee is $150.  During your consultation Dr. Chang will discuss your concerns, provide a complete evaluation of your facial anatomy, and recommend a customized plan for you. As part of your consultation you will receive detailed information on policies and pricing specific to your personalized plan. Your consultation fee is credited toward the cost of surgery if scheduled within 90 days and performed within 180 days of your consultation. The consultation fee is credited toward the cost of injectables if that, and not surgery, was the focus of your consultation. In that scenario, consultation fee will be credited toward neurotoxin treatments only when received the same day as consultation, and dermal fillers or other nonsurgical treatments if received within 90 days of the consultation.

All surgeries are required to be paid in full prior to your scheduled surgery. We accept cashier’s checks, personal checks (at least 5 business days prior to procedure), credit cards, Venmo, cash, and direct bank wire transfers. Please note that a 3% convenience fee is added to credit card payments with card present (3.5% for virtual payments). A 2% convenience fee is added to all Venmo payments. A $15 convenience fee is added to each bank wire transfer. We do not offer or accept financing through third parties such as Care Credit.

Medical & Revision Surgery Procedures

Dr. Chang's consultation fee is $350 for medical and revision consultations. Plastic surgery procedures may be covered by insurance if they qualify as medically necessary. However, Dr. Chang does not accept or contract with any commercial insurance carriers (except Medicare, see below). Patients may elect to pay for surgery out-of-pocket, then apply for reimbursement from their insurance carrier as out-of-network benefits. Dr. Chang can provide patients with the necessary diagnosis (ICD-10) and surgery (CPT) codes to assist with reimbursement, but it is the responsibility of the patient to work directly with their insurance carrier. Patients should understand that out-of-network benefits are not guarantees of reimbursement by an insurance policy, and insurance carriers can deny payment for services at their discretion.

Medicare Coverage

Dr. Chang accepts Medicare and Medicare Supplemental plans (not Medicare Advantage plans) in limited scenarios.  Consultations to determine medical necessity, as well as lesion removals and biopsies, are billed to Medicare. Medically necessary components of surgery, when performed in conjunction with cosmetic surgery, are billed to Medicare. Dr. Chang does not perform medical-only surgeries.
